In this activity, each student makes a prediction of another student and predicts about the topics on the cards. Then, each student comes at the front of the class and reads the predictions about him/herself and says if the predictions were right or wrong.
I have already done this activity with my students and they really loved it because, as you know, they love to talk about themselves…
Moreover, these cards can be also used to review other grammatical structures. For example:
-You can use them to make students write sentences related to these topics in the Present, Past Simple or whichever tense you like! It could be a kind of competition in groups. The more sentences they write in 1 minute, the more points they win for their teams.
-These cards can also work to review any vocabulary and grammar point at the same time in a kind of “categories game”. Gamification is always a good idea!
-You can also use them for creative writing. Students have to talk about all these topics or about half of them (the ones they prefer) in their writing, and they have to make predictions about themselves or about their partners’ lives!
